A couple
of months ago, I found this pot of green foliage along with Venus
flytraps in a local Home Depot store. In addition to VF, they sometimes
offer sundews (usually D. capensis) and Pings (usually P. primuliflora)
and some pitcher plants (Sarracenia and small Nepenthes). One time I got
Drosera adelae. All usually $5.00 or so. The plants above were labeled
as butterworts. Since I haven't see these plants before, I purchased
one. After examining the leaves carefully at home, I did not see any
glandular hairs, so I thought it was mislabeled. I did not think it's
carnivorous. But I kept the plants in a tray of water.... I did
not know the name. Now, after settling in my growing environment, the
plants started to show glandular hairs. Yes, I believe this is
Pinguicula moctezumae from Mexico, discovered in 1994.
