The pitcher of
this species forms a well-developed hood over the pitcher opening. Once
inside the pitcher, a crawling insect is guided deeper into the pitcher
by the light coming through white areoles - strategically positioned
"deceptive" exits. Down-pointing, intermeshing hairs are well
developed in this species for a large portion of the pitcher tube. |
