A Georgia grassland, sparsely
populated with pine trees, offers a comfortable habitat for the hooded
pitcher plants. The inner surface of the
hood is heavily lined with red veins, making the hood appear bright red
when seen from down under against the blue sky. The white patches
on the upper back of the pitcher help brighten the pitcher interior.
