Picture Control is used to fine-tune the picture quality. There are
four preset Nikon Picture Controls: Standard, Neutral,
Vivid or Monochrome. In addition, you can create a new
picture control or modify an existing one.
SHOOTING MENU
Set Picture Control

This allows selection of the picture control you want to use. |
Manage Picture Control |
This allows creation, deletion, renaming and loading of picture
controls. |
Picture Control is composed of the following settings:
Sharpening
|
Select from 0 (lowest) to 9 (highest). |
Contrast
|
Select
from -3 (lowest) to +3 (highest) or Active D-Lighting. |
Brightness
|
Select
from -1 (lowest) to +1 (highest) or Active D-Lighting. |
Saturation
|
Select
from -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 or Auto. |
Hue
|
Select
from -2, -1, 0, +1, +2. |
Filter effect |
Select from Yellow, Orange, Red, Green (for monochrome only). |
Toning effect
|
(monochrome only) |

To select a picture control to use: Go to
Set Picture Control,
highlight the one you want, and hit OK.
To modify an existing picture control: Go to
Set Picture Control,
highlight the one to modify, and click right arrow, modify contents.
ThenOK.
To create a new picture control: Go to
Manage Picture Control,
select
Save/Edit,
highlight the one to use as a template, and click right arrow, modify contents, OK,
Save as, OK.
To delete an existing picture control: Go to
Manage Picture Control,
select
Delete, highlight
the one to delete, OK.
To rename an existing picture control: Go to
Manage Picture Control,
select
Rename, highlight
the one to rename, rename & OK.
To load/save an existing picture control: Go to
Manage Picture Control,
select
CopyToCamera
or
DeleteFromCard
or
CopyToCard,
and follow the steps...
