| Fans frequently ask me if there is something
they can give Kate Mulgrew to acknowledge her birthday, send her holiday
greetings, or just thank her for the enjoyment her work has brought them.
So with the holidays approaching here's a suggestion for a gift Kate will

As most of you are aware, Kate has become a champion for public education and research related to Alzheimer’s prevention and cure. Kate is involved in Alzheimer’s prevention research being performed by Dr. Karen Hsiao Ashe at The N. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research & Care at the University of Minnesota. In fact she recently delivered the keynote speech at the Minnesota Medical Foundation's Annual dinner. Kate feels passionately about this organization and Dr. Ashe’s research and hopes a cure, through prevention, can soon be found for Alzheimer’s. But as she made clear in her recent opinion piece published on CNN.com, funds need to be raised for this research. The Minnesota Medical Foundation has added an option to their website whereby donations can be made in honor of Kate and she will be notified of these gifts by the MMF. You may also include a short personalized note to Kate with each donation. Kate's fans have always been generous as well as passionate, and she is delighted to know that this project has been initiated. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and will help University of Minnesota researchers discover ways to eliminate the suffering Alzheimer’s disease causes individuals and their families.
