Cobra plant blossom
in late May, northern California. The sheer
seductiveness of the cobra plant flower. "Eyes" of the
flower --
a circular hole formed by overlapping notches of the adjacent petals --
serve as an entrance into the corolla
interior for the visiting pollinators seeking nectar.
Blooming cobra lilies on the mountain slope, northern
California.
