Residential Misting Systems |
Insects invading your home or keeping you from enjoying the outdoors? Consider investing in a residential misting system to keep insects away.
WHAT IS A RESIDENTIAL MISTING SYSTEM?
A Residential Misting System is an automatic insect control system installed in areas where insects are a nuisance. Our systems help to provide an atmosphere where outdoor living can be enjoyed and create a barrier to keep insects from invading your home.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED?
Residential Misting Systems are installed in many different configurations; they have the potential to provide insect control in any area that has an insect problem. Some common applications include:
- Home Perimeters
- First Story Overhangs
- Backyards
- Fencing
- Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs
- Gardens
- Patios
- Covered Walkways
- Dog Kennels
- Livestock Barns
HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?
Residential Misting Systems include nozzles, tubing, and a reservoir with a a pressurized pump. Spray nozzles, connected by specialized nylon tubing, are placed at strategic locations based on landscaping and the structure of the home to create a zone of protection. The nozzles and tubing are connected to a pressurized pumping system that is controlled by an automatic timer.
Once installed, the system is set to spray on a predetermined 24-hour schedule. The pump draws liquid from a reservoir and transfers it through the specialized nylon tubing to the spray nozzles. Our misting system then covers the area with small particles of water-based insecticide. Using this technology, the system controls inscts by killing a large number of insects and lowering the reproduction cycle.

WHY USE A RESIDENTIAL MISTING SYSTEM?
Insect control has been a headache for homeowners for decades. Control methods range from bug zappers to citronella candles to repellents. Many of these methods do not provide longlasting effectiveness and require intensive labor and time out of a busy schedule.
Residential Misting Systems will save you both time and labor, are harmless around children and pets, and eliminate irritating insects. The system is controlled by an automatic timer that results in no additional labor. Water-based, EPA registered insecticides are used an provide fast knockdown of bees, wasps, STINK BUGS!!!, mosquitoes, spiders, flies, gnats, no-see-ums, fleas, ticks, etc. with no adverse effects to mammals.
Our systems are so versatile they can be installed conveniently at the time of new construction, when additions are added or in already existing areas to effectively reduce insect populations - automatically!
WHAT TYPE OF INSECTICIDES ARE USED?
There are many insect control products to choose from on the market today. Our experience has brought us to believe that pyrethrin and permethrin water based insecticides offer the best all around performance for the control of spiders, flies, mosquitoes and other biting and no-see-um insects.
Many key factors can play a part in the effectiveness of an insecticide used in automatic systems. One such factor is PBO or Pieronyl Butoxide. PBO is what is commonly referred to as a synergist. Synergists can be mixed with synthetic insecticides and are often found fomulated with Pyrethrins. PBO helps overcome resistance that pests develop with constant use of insecticides.
