F.I.C.S. of Maryland, Inc. is a family run business with father-daughter team, Bill Hart and Sandy Hart Long.

Bill:

Bill Hart, founder and president of F.I.C.S., left the corporate world nearly 20 years ago to start what began as "Farmers Insect Control Systems," a small business that focused only on fly spray systems.  While he started out with only 30 fly spray systems, through a reputation of a quality product, fair pricing, and outstanding service, he now has over 300 systems throughout the East Coast.

During his rounds to barns to service the fly spray systems, Bill noticed and became interested in a variety of other products.  Over 10 years ago Bill partnered up with Footings Unlimited, arguably the most respected footing company in the country.  Since then, he has also joined with Red Master Harrow and Loddon Stalls, along with other revered equestrian firms.

Over the years, Bill continued to add only the highest quality products to the company's portfolio to transform F.I.C.S. from a a small, local fly spray company to one that offers the finest products and services for stables and arenas throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Sandy:

Sandy Hart Long left her teaching career several years ago to join the family business and work alongside her father, Bill.  She has been riding both competitively and recreationally for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines.  She currently has 3 horses at her farm, in Hampstead, MD:  Dolly, a 25 year old (mostly) retired mare that Sandy showed successfully both in hunters and combined training,  Ranger, a 20 year old gelding who recently retired from competition and is enjoying life as a pleasure horse, and Molly, an "aged" bay Gotland Pony that loves packing around Sandy's 2 year old daughter, Madelyn.

In addition to riding, Sandy has been judging locally for a few years now and is working on becoming a recognized judge in Maryland.  She also has a few select clients to whom she teaches lessons.
